Holland America bought the ship in 1973 and renamed it the Volendam. From 1975-78 it sailed for Monarch Cruise Lines as the Monarch Sun and was returned to Holland America in 1978 and renamed Volendam again. In 1985 the ship was sold to American Hawaii Cruises and renamed ss Liberte after being rebuilt. In 1987 it was sold to Bermuda Star Line and renamed Canada Star and then Queen of Bermuda. In 1990 it was sold to Commodore Cruise Line and renamed the Enchanted Seas.
