Fred Olsen sold the ship in 1981 to Scandinavian World Cruises (managed by DFDS) and it was rebuilt and renamed Scandinavian Sea.  The ship caught fire in 1984 and was a total loss and needed to be rebuilt.  It was sold in 1984 to Pan Ocean and renamed Venus Venture.  It was sold again in 1986 to Bajamar Shipping (later Discovery Cruise Line) and renamed Discovery 1.
