24 page full color cruise brochure for the 1982-1983 Caribbean - South America - Europe cruises aboard the Astor United Cruises (Hadag) West German registered ship MS Astor.
The brochure includes many photos and description of the ship's interior and exterior and life aboard the ship, photos and descriptions of ports of call, sailing schedules and itineraries (cruise #'s27-57, October 1982 to December 1983), room rates, deck plans for 6 decks, a cutaway view showing the location of decks and public rooms, technical data about the ship, cabin plans for inside and outside cabins, and general information.
The brochure is in excellent condition. It was printed in West Germany.
The ms Astor was built in 1981 and was a financial flop for Hadag. The ship was sold to South Africa's Safmarine in early 1984. Safmarine sold it to the East German state government shipping company DSR in late 1985 and it was renamed Arkona. It sailed with DSR until 2001 when it was sold to Transocean Tours and renamed Astoria. Saga Cruises bought the ship in 2009 and it sailed with them as the Saga Pearl II until 2019. It was scrapped in 2022.
