Product Description

Vintage 10-strike matchbook cover (no matches) from the late 1970's for the 112 room Thrifty Dutchman Budget Motel which was located at 3357 Fern Valley Rd in Louisville Kentucky.  The location is now a Day's Inn.

Thrifty Dutchman Motels was a mini chain of 3 budget motels with locations in Kentucky (Louisville, Richmond) and Indiana.  The motels featured an entrance that looked like a windmill, and had 100+ rooms each, a restaurant, and swimming pool.  The company trademarked their logo in 1973 and by the late 1980's had ceased to exist.

The front cover has the hotel logo and name, and the strike side cover has the address with a very basic 'map' and says 'Budget Motel'.  The inside of the cover is blank.

The matchbook cover is empty and there are no matches, the strike pad appears to be unused. The matchbook is in very good condition with a few tiny hard to see very light spots (see photos).
