Product Description
Vintage magazine print ad from 1974 advertising the "new" Datsun 710 2-door/4-door/hardtop sedan with the slogan "The Driving Man's Economy Car". The size is 10" x 6.75" (254mm x 172mm). The back side of the ad has classifieds ads.
The Japanese made Datsun 710 was introduced in 1974. From the ad's text: "An 1800cc overhead cam engine, power-assist from disc brakes and unibody construction balance the performance of the new 710's. Graceful new lines, whitewall tires and handsome wheel covers make it handsome..."
FYI, the U.S. was in the midst of a gas crisis in 1974 because of an oil embargo against the US so fuel economy was a big selling point due to gas shortages and oil prices that quadrupled during the year, hence the "Datsun Saves" graphic with the gas can in the ad.
The ad is in very good condition. The left side edge was trimmed slightly unevenly when it was removed from the magazine (see photos).
