Synopsis: First published in 1961 as part of the Golden Read-it-yourself series, A Pickle For A Nickel is a charming children's book written by renowned educator and author Lilian Moore, with whimsical illustrations by Susan Perl. The story centers on Mr. Bumble, a very quiet man who leads a peaceful, quiet life alongside his equally quiet pet parrot.  

The calm routine is turned upside down, however, when a lively young boy enters the picture and decides to teach the quiet parrot how to talk. Filled with playful humor and accessible language tailored for early readers, the book follows the amusing and noisy results of the bird's newfound vocal abilities, transforming Mr. Bumble's quiet world into a source of cheerful commotion.

Condition: The book has some wear/light damage at the base of the spine cover (see photo below), and the book's covers have wear on the corner tips.  There are no loose or torn pages. The inside pages are in excellent condition with no writing, marks, or creases (see photos).
