Vintage 10-strike matchbook cover (no matches) from the 1960's advertising the ambassador Hotel which was located at 14th and 1422 K St NW in Washington DC.

The 500 room 12-story hotel was built in 1929 and closed in 1978.  The building was demolished in 1980 and replaced with an office building.

The white front cover of the matchbox has the hotel name and phone number, and the red strike side cover has the hotel name and address.  The inside of the coveris blank.

The matchbook cover is empty and there are no matches, the strike pad appears to be unused. The matchbook is in very good condition (see photos).
