11-page full color brochure (plus a "cruise cash certificate" coupon) for the 1982-1983 Inland and Coastal East Coast cruises aboard the American Cruise Lines ships mv Independence and mv America.
The cruises offered were:
- Colonial South Cruise (7 days)
- Okeechobee and Southern Waterways Cruise (10 days - 1-way)
- East Coast Inland Passage Cruise (14 days - 1-way)
- Chesapeake Bay - Williamsburg Cruise (7 Days)
- New England Islands Cruise (7 Days)
The brochure includes a photo of the mv Independence on the cover (there are no photos of the mv America), descriptions of the different cruises, sailing dates and itineraries, room rates, deck plans for both the ships with an illustration of each ship , and detailed cabin layout plans, and general passenger information.
Condition: The brochure is in excellent condition (see photos). The brochure was printed in the USA and it was effective September 1, 1982.
Ship History: American Cruise Lines was headquartered in Haddam Connecticut. It was founded in 1972 by Charles Robertson and filed for bankruptcy in 1987 and ceased operations in 1989. Robertson relaunched the cruise line in 2000.
The Independence (180 ft, 94 tons, 87 passengers) entered service in 1976 and the America (180 ft, 99 tons, 87 passengers) in 1982. The Independence was sold in 1985 and is still sailing today for UnCruise Adventures as the Wilderness Explorer in Alaska. The America was sold (around 1987) and is still sailing today in Central America for UnCruise as the Safari Voyager.
