Full color fold-out introductory brochure announcing Amtrak's short lived Metroliner train service for business travelers from Boston to New York.
The brochure describes the services and has many photos of passengers enjoying the service and journey in coach cars. lounge cars, and dining cars.
The back of the brochure has the train schedule. It departed twice a day from Boston (trains #297 and #293) and twice a day from New York (trains #292 and #294) The 3 hour and 55 minute trip made intermediate stops at Stamford, New Haven, Providence, and Route 128.
Amtrak introduced the Boston - New York Metroliner service October 31, 1982 and discontinued it 1 1/2 years later on April 28, 1984. The trains switched locomotive engines at New Haven (electric to diesel) because the full electrification of the Northeast Corrider New Haven to Boston section wasn't completed until 2000.
Condition: The brochure is in excellent condition. It measures 9" x 3 7/8" (229mm x 98mm) and folds out to a size of 18" x 11 1.2" (457mm x 292mm).
