Synopsis: The 1997 Little Golden Book "Annabelle's Wish," based on the animated film of the same name, tells the story of a calf named Annabelle who is born on Christmas Eve. On that night, Santa Claus visits the farm, and all the animals are magically given the ability to speak for one day. Annabelle, upon seeing Santa's flying reindeer, makes a wish that she could one day fly and join them.
Annabelle becomes the Christmas present for a young boy named Billy, who lives on the farm with his grandfather. Billy has been mute since a fire that took the lives of his parents. Annabelle and Billy become fast friends, and over the course of the next year, their bond grows.
As the following Christmas Eve approaches, Billy's well-being is threatened when his wealthy aunt, Agnes, arrives and tries to take him away to the city. When Santa returns, Annabelle is faced with a choice: she can use her "Christmas voice" to ask Santa to grant her wish to fly, or she can make a selfless wish for her best friend, Billy.
In a heartwarming act of sacrifice, Annabelle gives up her voice so that Billy can speak again. Touched by her selflessness, Santa grants her wish. As years pass, Billy grows up, and he and Annabelle remain close. On a final Christmas Eve, Santa returns and, in honor of her unselfish act, fulfills Annabelle's original wish by transforming her into a reindeer so she can fly with him forever.
Condition: The book is in very good condition. It has light wear on the corner edges, and there is an initial written in the "this book belongs to" space on the inside. The inside pages are in excellent condition with no writing marks or creases. The spine and binding are also in very good condition. (see photos).
