Product Description
Antique 1910's postcard showing a nighttime view of the Banff Springs Hotel as it looked in the 1910's, in Banff, Alberta, Canada.
The hotel was built by Canadian Pacific Railway in 1888 and the center 11-story tower was added in 1911. A fire in 1926 destroyed much of the original wooden buildings (the 5-story "wings" scene in this postcard) and the hotel was rebuilt. The 764 room hotel has 12 restaurants and in 1988 was designated a National Historic Site of Canada.
The card is used and stamped. It has some wear around the edges and rounding on the corners, and there is a very light 1/4" surface crease on the top left corner tip (see photo).
The card was published by Novelty Manufacturing & Art Co. Ltd, Montreal.
