Product Description

Modern Age comic book: Birds of Prey, issue #19, July 2000. Published by DC Comics.

Synopsis: Barbara Gordon (Oracle) and Robin are in her Clock Tower apartment, experimenting with a virtual reality projection room. Dick Grayson stops by carrying flowers for Barbara (and pizza for everyone).

Shortly after that, Ted Kord (the Blue Beetle) also arrives, creating a complication: Dick and Robin cannot both remain in Barbara’s presence because they’re not supposed to know each other. Barbara later returns and finds Robin still there, having used the VR room to trick Dick (he’s led to believe he’s under attack by a tiger) so Robin could stay.

Meanwhile, Black Canary is on a mission in the country of Hasaragua to intercept a weapons / arms dealer operation, and her report to Oracle begins positively.

Barbara’s ex-boyfriend, Jason Bard, comes by later and confronts her about her wheelchair (as Jason recently lost his eyesight) and they go for a walk / talk.

Back in Hasaragua, Black Canary is ambushed and overpowered by the assassins Lady Vic and Brutale, who seem to have arranged her capture as part of a trap, perhaps because she’s linked to Oracle.

Condition: The comic is in near mint condition (see photos).
