Product Description

2-panel 3-page full color brochure for the May 25 1974 - December 7 1974 Air/Sea Caribbean cruises from Miami organized by the Canadian tour operator Skylark aboard the Carnival Cruise Lines ship TSS Mardi Gras with air travel from Toronto provided by Air Canada.

The brochure includes photos and descriptions of the ship and ports of call, sailing schedules and itinerary, room rates with airfare, and general information.

The brochure is in good condition with small creases on the right corner tips and a very light crease near the center right, and a small 1/4" tear on the bottom edge. (see photos).

The Mardi Gras was originally built for Canadian Pacific Steamships who operated it as the Empress of Canada (1961-1972). Carnival purchased the Empress of Canada/Mardi Gras in 1972 and operated it until 1993 when it was sold to Epirotiki who chartered it to Gold Star Cruises and it was renamed the Star of Texas (and later Lucky Star).  Epirotiki merged with Sun Lines in 1995 and the company was renamed Royal Olympic.  The ship was renamed the Apollon in 1995 and sailed with Royal Olympic until 2003 when it was sold for scrap.
