Product Description

8 page full color brochure for the Winter 1977-78 7-day Caribbean cruises from New Orleans Louisiana, and the 10-day Christmas-New Year's cruise, aboard the Carras Cruises Greek cruise ship mts Daphne.

The 7-day cruises visited Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Havana. The Christmas/New Year's cruise visited Montego Bay, Puerto Cortes, Santo Tomas, and Playa del Carmen/Cozumel.

The brochure includes photos and descriptions of the ship's interior and exterior and ports of call, basic deck plans, stateroom layout plans, room rate fly/sea rates, and general info.

The brochure has some light wear: it is creased, the top staple is missing, and there is some yellowing around the edges due to age (see photos).

The Daphne was originally built as the cargo ship Port Sydney for Port Lines in 1954 and was purchased by Carras in 1972 and rebuilt and converted into a passenger ship. The ship sailed with Carras and briefly Lauro Lines until it was chartered to Costa in 1979 and purchased by Costa in 1984.   It sailed with Costa (and later Prestige Cruises) until 1996 when it was sold again. In later years the ship also sailed as the Ocean Monarch and the Princess Daphne. The ship was scrapped in 2014.
