Product Description

Antique World War 1 era sheet music with lyrics from 1919 for the hit song Chong (He Come From Hong Kong), words and music written by Harold Weeks. Popular Edition, published by Leo Feist Inc, New York.

The sheet music booklet is printed in a smaller size than normal to conserve paper for the war effort which was a common practice with sheet music publishers during WW1. It is 10.5" x 6.75" (267mm x 172mm). The booklet has 2 pages of music (plus the front and back covers).

The war time era call to patriotism and supporting the WW1 war effort is reflected in the ad on the back cover "Sing on to Victory with Songs of Cheer...here are the songs our boys sing when they march away, the choruses they sing in trench and dugout over there, the songs they'll sing when they come marching home from victory".

Condition: the sheet music is in overall good condition. The front cover has initials and a date written in pencil on it, and there is a light crease near the bottom left corner. The back cover has a light stain on the bottom left side (see photos).
