note: this brochure was printed in August 1974. Less than one month later, on September 12, 1974 the Cunard Ambassador caught fire and was declared a total loss and taken out of service. All of its cruises listed in this brochure were cancelled. This was the final Cunard brochure that advertised the Cunard Ambassador before the fire.
The brochure includes photos and descriptions of the ships and shipboard life, descriptions of the cruise and ports of call, room rates and photos of the different type of staterooms, deck plans, sailing schedules and itineraries, descriptions of dining on the ships and a sample dinner menu, special tips about enjoying the cruise, and general information.
The brochure is in excellent condition (see photos).
The Cunard Adventurer sailed with Cunard from 1971-77 when it was sold to Norwegian Cruise Line and renamed the Sunward II. The ship was sold to Epirotiki line in 1991 and renamed the Triton. It was sold to Royal Olympic Cruises in 1995 who operated the ship until 2004 when it was sold to Louis Cruises and renamed the Coral and sailed until 2014.
The MV Cunard Ambassador (sister ship of the Cunard Adventurer) was built in 1972. In 1974 the ship caught fire and was declared a total loss. The hull of the ship was sold to a Danish company who converted the ship into a sheep/livestock carrier and renamed it 'Linda Clausen'. The ship caught fire a second time in 1981, and a third time in 1983, and after the 3rd fire it was sold to ship breakers.
