Small 4-panel 2-sided brochure advertising the last cruise ever for the Cunard Line ship RMS Mauretania sailing from New York on September 15, 1965 to the Mediterranean and ending in Southampton on November 10, 1965. The 61-day cruise stopped in 31 ports in 20 countries.The brochure was printed in the U.S. in January 1965 and measures 9" x 4" folded (229mm x 102mm).
Cunard announced on October 10, 1965 that the ship would be withdrawn from service after this last cruise, and on November 20th the ship sailed on its final voyage to the shipbreaking yard in Scotland.
The brochure has a photo of the Mauretania and a description of the cruise, cruise itinerary, and room rates.
Condition: The brochure is in excellent condition (see photos).
Ship history: the 35,738 ton 772 ft long RMS Mauretania was built for Cunard in 1938 and sailed with them until 1965 when it was scrapped. In 1962 the ship was painted light green and converted into a full time cruise ship for its last years from '62-'65.
