The front of the booklet has a photo of the Franconia. The booklet provides "An A to Z guide for your cruise" covering everything from Bars and Boat Drills to Restaurants and Valet Services. It also has illustrated info on the insignia of officers, telling time at sea, lights displayed by ships at sea, direction names at sea (port, starboard, ahead, astern, etc.), position and location of flags on the ship with illustrations of the flags,

The Franconia was built for Cunard in 1955 and sailed as the Ivernia until 1963 when it was renamed the Franconia. The ship was sold to Far Eastern Shipping in 1973 and renamed Fedor Shalyapin and was sold to the Black Sea Shipping Co in 1980 and then the Odessa Shipping Company in 1989 who owned her until 2004.
