Vintage early 1990's Ertl #9388 limited edition diecast metal 1:34 scale Pete Petersen's Hot Rod Magazine 1st Delivery Truck 1931 Hawkeye Truck Locking Coin Bank with Key in a special Pete Petersen's Performance Pioneers box.
This scale model is number 1 in the Eastwood Company's Performance Pioneer Series which featured the companies and men that created the American hi-performance automotive industry. This truck is #1691 of the limited edition and 1691 is stamped on the bottom of the truck and on the box.
The coin bank can be unlocked by turning the key (which is included) in the base of the truck.

The truck has a red metal body, black roof fenders and running boards, black base, chrome grille frame and headlights, black grille, clear windshield, black sinterior, removable key in the base (to unlock the coin bank), real rubber tires with red spoked wheel hubs.
The truck has "Hot Rod Magazine by Petersen Publishing Available on Newsstands January 1 1948" on the sides, "Performance Pioneers Series #1 Robert Petersen" on the back, and "HRM Los Angeles California" on the front doors.
The Hawkeye truck is 1:34 scale, 7" inches long x 3" high x 2" wide (178mm x 76mm x 51mm) . Made in Mexico in 1992.
Condition: The truck is new and in mint condition in a very good condition box (see photos).
trivia: Robert E. "Pete" Petersen was the founder of Hot Rod Magazine. The truck is a replica of the truck that was used to deliver the first issue of Hot Rod Magazine in 1948.
