Vintage 10-strike matchbook cover (no matches) from the early 1960's advertising Ferguson's Cafeteria which was located at 2632 W. Indian School Rd at 27th Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona.
The restaurant was owned by husband and wife restaurateurs Ralph and May Ferguson. The Indian School Rd restaurant had a seating capacity of 400, and there were separate banquet rooms that could accommodate 25 to 200 people. Promotional postcards issued by the restaurant at the time stated "tempting foods prepared by expert women cooks using Ferguson's own special recipes". The Indian School Rd location was the 3rd Ferguson's cafeteria location to open. The family also operated Ferguson's on E Thomas Rd (opened 1958) and N 7th Ave (opened 1959).
The front and strike sides have the restaurant name. The inside of the matchbook has the restaurant name, address, and phone number..
The matchbook cover is in very good condition with two small staple holes from where the staple was removed. It is empty and there are no matches, and the strike pad appears to be unused. (see photos).
