Vintage 30-strike matchbook cover (no matches) from the 1950's advertising the now closed Frascati Belgian Restaurant in Beverly Hills California.
Frascati operated four restaurants in the LA area serving Belgian, Continental, and American cuisine: Frascati (Wilshire Blvd in Beverly Hills), Villa Frascati (Sunset Blvd in Hollywood), Frascati Inn (S. La Cienega in Los Angeles), and Chalet Frascati (Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica).
The front cover of the matchbook has the the restaurant logo and name. The strike side of the cover has an artist's illustration and the restaurant name,. The inside has the names, addresses, and old style phone numbers of the mini chain's 4 restaurants)..
The matchbook was made by Match Corp of America, Chicago.
The matchbook cover is in very good condition. It is empty and there are no matches. The strike pad appears to be lightly used and there is a light stain on the inside at the bottom right corner. (see photos).
