Product Description

Vintage 30-strike matchbook cover (no matches) for the Howard Hughes owned 600 room Western themed Frontier Hotel on the Vegas Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The matchbook cover dates from circa 1970 when Hughes Hotels owned and managed the hotel..

The Frontier was built in 1967 and Howard Hughes took full control of it in late 1967 at the same time he also bought the Sands, Landmark, and Silver Slipper hotel casinos.  Hughes was very active in hotels on the Las Vegas Strip from 1967-73.  The hotel was sold to Summa Corp in 1973 and demolished in 2007.

The front and back cover have the Frontier Hotel Las Vegas name and logo.  The inside of the matchbook lists the hotel's amenities and features and its three restaurants (Pioneer Room, Frontier Steak House, The Cabaret).

The matchbook cover is in very good condition with some very light signs of wear. It is empty and there are no matches, and the strike pad appears to be unused. (see photos).
