Vintage early 1970's corporate promotional booklet "Great Lakes To The Sea...The American Shipbuilding Company" promotional info booklet from 1981, "Great Lakes Shipping". Printed in 1971 in the USA by American Shipbuilding Co. Paperback booklet with spiral binding, 34 pages, 11" x 8.5" (279mm x 216mm).
The booklet was used for public relations and sales and given to visitors to the company's headquarters and three shipyards, potential buyers of ships, business clients, and tour groups and VIP groups.
The book has a forward by American Shipbuilding owner and CEO George Steinbrenner III who was CEO from 1967 to 1973. Steinbrenner (aka "The Boss") is most famous as the longtime owner of the New York Yankees baseball team from 1973 until his death in 2010.
The booklet has many photos of Great Lakes freighters, cargo ships, ore ships, and tankers that were built in, or repaired by American Shipbuilding. It also has photos and descriptions of the company's headquarters, shipyards, equipment used and made in the shipyards, shop facilities, steel making equipment, diagrams maps of the Lorain Chicago and Toledo shipyards, and more.
Condition: The front cover has a small white damage spot on the bottom left corner from where an asset tag (or price sticker) was removed but the booklet is otherwise in very good condition. The interior pages are in excellent condition (see photos).
