Vintage promotional safety matches matchbox from the 1980's advertising the Harley of New York, A Helmsley Hotel, which was located at 212 East 42nd Street in midtown Manhattan.
Printed on the front of the matchbook is the hotel's name, and the address and telephone number printed on the back. Wooden matches with light blue tips.
The matchbook is in very good condition. All matches are intact and the "strike pad" is unstruck (see photos).
The 40-story 800-room hotel, located near Grand Central Terminal train station, was built by Harry Helmsley and Leona Helmsley in 1981. The hotel was sold after Leona Helmsley's death and in 2012 was renamed The Westin New York Grand Central.
