Dedication Ceremony Program and Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Booklet from the August 10th, 1962 dedication ceremony for the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library which is located in West Branch, Iowa. The dedication program measures 10" x 8" and the Presidential Library booklet measures 11" x 8.5".
The 1-page ceremony program lists the events of the day from the arrival of Presidents Hoover and Truman to the dedication pronouncement and benediction. It also lists the speakers who included Presidents Truman and Hoover, Iowa Governor Erbe, and others.
The 10-page Presidential Library booklet has a photo of Hoover, a description of the library and its contents, a floor plan of the library, photos of rooms and important exhibits (The Presidential Desk, a display of some of Hoover's personal items, the "Library-room", embroidered and painted flower sacs Hoover received from the European people for the work he did, and more.
The booklet also has a description and photos of the park, and listings of the officers, executive committee, and board of trustees of the library.
Also included is the plain beige envelope that the program and booklet were packaged in when given out at the ceremony )the envelope shows some wear).
Condition: The Presidential Library booklet has a small spot on the front cover's right side but the inside pages are in very good condition (see photos). The Dedication Ceremony program insert is in excellent condition. The plain beige envelope that the program came in has some wear and old tape marks on one end (see photos).
