40 page full color brochure for the Fall/Winter 1966-1967 West Indies Cruises aboard the Holland America Line ships ss Rotterdam, ss Nieuw Amsterdam, and ss Statendam.
The brochure includes photos and descriptions of all three ships , a description of life aboard the ships and a sample Gala Dinner menu, sailing schedules and itineraries for all of the cruises, room rates, and general passenger information.
Condition: The brochure's back cover has some damage along the right side from where it was taped to a scrap book, and there is a 1/2" tear at the bottom of the back cover (see photos). The rest of the brochure is in very good condition.
The 36,982 ton, 758 ft long, ss Nieuw Amsterdam was built in Rotterdam in 1937 and sailed with Holland America from its maiden voyage in 1938 until the end of 1973. The ship was used as a troop ship for 6 years during World War II. The ship was scrapped in 1974.
The Rotterdam was built in 1959 and sailed with Holland America until 1997. The ship was sold to Premiere Cruise Line in 1997 and sailed as the Rembrandt until 2000. The Rotterdam has been a hotel ship/museum docked in Rotterdam since 2010.
The 24,294 ton Statendam sailed with Holland America from 1956-1982. It was sold to Paquet in 1982 and renamed the Rhapsody, and then it was sold to Regency Cruises in 1986 and renamed the Regent Star and operated until 1995 when Regency filed for bankruptcy. The ship was laid up from 1996 until it was scrapped in 2004.
