Vintage 30-strike matchbook cover (no matches) from the early 1980's advertising the now defunct Hungry Tiger Restaurant And Seafood Oyster Bar chain which had restaurants in Southern California, Northern California, and Houston, Texas.

Hungry Tiger was founded in 1962 by the president and chairman of the Flying Tigers airfreight line and its early restaurants resembled hangars and ere decorated with pictures of planes and pilots.  At its peak the chain had over 40 restaurants (mainly in Southern California).  The chain was acquired by W.R. Grace & Co in 1985 and by the late 1980's most of the restaurants had closed.

The front cover and strike sides of the matchbook have the restaurant's name and logo.  The inside lists the restaurant's locations (16 when this matchbox was printed).

The matchbook cover is in very good condition . It is empty and there are no matches, and the strike pad appears to be unused (see photos).
