Vintage 30-strike matchbook cover (no matches) from the early 1960's advertising Lawry's The Prime Rib restaurant in Beverly Hills, California
Lawry's opened in 1938 and is still owned by the same two families. It now has several branches in the U.S. and abroad. Lawry's Seasoned Salt was developed by the restaurant's founders in the 1930's and eventually spun off into its own Lawry's branded food products company. The food products company was sold to Unilever in 1979 (who later sold it to McCormick in 2008)
The front cover of the matchbook has the the restaurant logo. The strike side of the cover has the restaurant name. The inside has a short description of the restaurant and its old form phone number.
The matchbook is a "The Ambassador" style matchbook made by Diamond Match.
The matchbook cover is in very good condition. It is empty and there are no matches and the strike pad appears to be unused (see photos).
