Modern Age comic book: Liberty Meadows, issue #28, October 2002. Story and art by Frank Cho. Cover color by Brett Evans. Published by Image Comics. This issue: Ralph's Genetic Breakthrough...DNA A-Okay".
Synopsis: In the 28th issue of Frank Cho’s award-winning series, the domestic chaos of the Liberty Meadows animal sanctuary focuses on the "scientific" pursuits of Ralph, the muzzled circus bear with a penchant for mad-scientist antics. This issue finds Ralph tinkering in his lab once again, with Frank the Veterinarian serving as the test subject for a DNA genetics experiment gone wrong.
Parallel to the animal slapstick, the narrative continues to thread the needle of the series’ core "will-they-won't-they" dynamic, as the endearingly awkward veterinarian Frank struggles to navigate his feelings for the beautiful animal psychiatrist Brandy.
Published during the title’s definitive move to Image Comics, issue #28 highlights Cho’s trademark blend of lush, illustrative draftsmanship and irreverent uncensored humor, chaos and absurdity, and the eternal battle between science and sanity at the Liberty Meadows sanctuary.
Condition: The comic is in very fine plus condition. It has a tiny 1/4" dogear crease/dent on the bottom left corner tip edge (see photos).
