Product Description

Vintage 30-strike matchbook cover (no matches) from the mid 1970's advertising Marshall Field &Co department store chain and its in-store restaurants.

Marshall Field's was founded in 1852 in Chicago and operated until 2006 when its stores were converted to Macy's after its parent company was purchased by Federated Department Stores.  The flagship Chicago store covered an entire city block and had 7 restaurants.

The front side of the matchbook has the company name and logo. The back side has the company name and says "over a century of serving you". The inside of the matchbook lists the names of the in-store restaurants in its Chicago (7 restaurants), Park Forest, Old Orchard, Mayfair, Oakbrook, River Oaks, Woodfield, Hawthorn Center, and Cherryvale stores.

The matchbook is a "The Aristocrat" matchbook made by Universal Match Co. of Chicago.

The matchbook cover is in very good condition. (see photos). It is empty and there are no matches and the strike pad appears to be unused.
