Vintage 4-page 1960's promotional brochure for a partnership/giveaway between Mercury and Coca-Cola during 1969 "Street 'n Strip... Streep Scene!" with classic late 1960's psychedelic artwork that does double duty in promoting its auto racing sponsorship efforts and describing Mercury muscle cars the Cougar, Cyclone, and Marauder.
The "Streep Scene!" racing was presented by Lincoln-Mercury and Coca Cola (which is why the artwork contains many images of Coke products). The pages of the brochure are devoted to:
- Defining definitions of "Streep, Streeper, Streeping, Streep Scene, Streep Sweeper, and more,
- A description of auto races where Mercury cars finished strong or won: Atlanta 500, Dixie 500, Southern 500, SCCA Trans-American Road Races,
- Daytona and NASCAR
- A description of the features of 4 Mercury muscle cars: Marauder X-100, Cyclone C.J., Cougar C.J. 428, Cougar 351-4V
- Short bios on three race car drivers racing in Mercury cars dueing the 1969 "Streep" season: Dan Gurney, "Dyno" Don Nicholson, and Cale Yarborough.
The brochure was printed in the USA and it is printed on heavy card stock (i.e. cardboard). The booklet is 11 3/4" x 9 1/2" (299mm x 241mm).
Condition: The brochure is in very good plus condition with barely noticeable very light small 1/8" dog-ears on a couple of the corner tips (see photos).
