Ports of call for the cruises included St. Thomas, Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Barbados, and San Juan.
The brochure includes short descriptions and a few black and white photos of the life onboard and ports of call, sailing schedules, room rates, and general information.
The brochure is in excellent condition. (see photos). It was printed in the USA in May 1963.
The Brasil was built in 1958 for the US flag Moore-McCormack Lines. Holland America bought the ship in 1973 and renamed it the Volendam. From 1975-78 it sailed for Monarch Cruise Lines as the Monarch Sun and was returned to Holland America in 1978 and renamed Volendam again. In 1985 the ship was sold to American Hawaii Cruises and renamed ss Liberte after being rebuilt. In 1987 it was sold to Bermuda Star Line and renamed Canada Star and then Queen of Bermuda. In 1990 it was sold to Commodore Cruise Line and renamed the Enchanted Seas. From 1995-2004 it sailed as the Universe Explorer for the Semester At Sea program.
