Mr. Flopears by Racey Helps is a children's book about a rabbit who lives in a valley. One day, it rains heavily and the river begins to flood. Mr. Flopears and his family, along with the other animals in the valley, must work together with the beavers to prevent the flood. They build a dam to stop the rising water and save their homes. The story teaches children about the importance of cooperation, friends helping friends when they are in need, and problem-solving. 

The Start-Rite Elf Series was designed as an inexpensive "educationally sound" way to introduce young children to "good literature".
