Product description

Chrome postcard showing the Epirotiki Lines 282 ft. 2,386 tons cruise ship M.V. Neptune docked at Genoa Italy on September 9, 1989.  The postcard is 5.75" x 4" (146mm x 102mm)

Photograph by Richard J. Weiss. Card published by C.T. Publishing, Birmingham, Michigan.

Condition: The card has some damage: there is a large crease on one side, and there is a large stain on one side of the back (see photos).  The card is used and stamped, postmarked 1993.

The Neptune was built in 1955 as the M.S. Meteor for Norway's Bergen Line and sailed with them until 1971 when a fire broke out off the coast off Alaska killing 12 passengers and badly damaging the ship.  It was sold in 1971 to Epirotiki who rebuilt the ship and renamed it Neptune. It sailed with them until 1996 when it was laid up.  It was sold for scrap in 2002.
