Vintage World War II era promotional 1943 calendar / thermometer combo with patriotic image advertising Nemasket Spring Water Co., bottlers of natural spring water beverages as well as sodas and mixers, located on Plymouth St in Middleboro Massachusetts. The company was founded in the 1890's by Thomas Fielding.
The calendar features a classic WWII wartime patriotic motif showing five members of different branches of the U.S. military and auxiliary forces marching together (including the Army, Navy, Marines, and a Nurse/Red Cross worker) alongside the American and U.S. Marine Corps flags, with warplanes flying overhead.
The calendar/thermometer uses a heavy embossed cardboard/textured paper frame designed with an Art Deco aesthetic, a glass tube thermometer on the left, and a tear-away calendar pad at the bottom (currently showing January 1943). The back side features a fold-out easel stand for desktop display and a die-cut hole for wall hanging.
The desktop calendar/thermometer measures 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" (191mm x 140mm).
Condition: The calendar/thermometer is in overall very good condition with some age related toning and staining along the top cardboard border.
The thermometer is intact with its original liquid.
All 12 months of the calendar are present. The month can be changed from the opening in the rear, each month is on a separate sheet of paper. (see photos)
