Introductory preview full color fold-out brochure from 1968 announcing the upcoming start of service on Norwegian Caribbean Line's second ship the M/S Starward. From the front cover: "Maiden Voyage December 21, 1968" and from the inside "(our) newest cruise ship - to be commissioned in 1968!".
The brochure features artist's renditions of the ship and its staterooms and descriptions, descriptions of the ship and the 7-day cruises from Miami to Jamaica (ports of call Antonio, Kingston, Montego Bay), detailed deck plans, room rates, itinerary, and general information.
Condition: The brochure's top right corner is very creased/wrinkled.
Ship History: The 525 ft long 15,781 ton Starward made its maiden voyage in 1968 and sailed with NCL until 1995 when it was sold to Festival Cruises (and chartered to Spanish Cruise Line in 2001) and renamed Bolero. It was sold to Abou Merhi Cruises in 2004 and renamed Orient Queen. In 2006 it was sold to Louis Cruise Lines. In 2013 it was renamed Louis Aura. In 2017 it was chartered to the Turkish line Etstur and renamed Aegean Queen. The ship was sold for scrap in 2018, ending a long 50 year career.
