Vintage 4-panel 2-sided paper takeout menu from the late 1990's for the East Village restaurant / bar Odessa Cafe Car which was located at 117 Avenue A between E 7th St and St Marks Place in the Alphabet City section of Manhattan, New York City
The 24 hour Ukrainian restaurant and bar opened in 1965 and closed in August 2013 after its landlord raised the rent 50%.
The restaurant specialized in Ukrainian specialties like pirogies, blintzes, potato pancakes, kielbasa and stuffed cabbage, as well as a wide selection of basic American diner comfort food, all at affordable prices. It was also a popular late night dive bar on weekends.
The menu is in very good condition. It has some writing in pen on one of the panels (see photos). The menu is 11" x 4.25" folded (and approximately 11" x 17" when opened).
