Antique sheet music from the 1920's puts Kipling's "Barrack Room Ballads" words to music in the song On The Road To Mandalay, with music by Oley Speaks and words by Rudyard Kipling.
The song is copyright 1907. The sheet music was published in the mid to late 1920's and printed in the U.S.A. by The John Church Co., Cincinnati - New York . The sheet music booklet is 12" x 9 1/4" (305mm x 235mm). The booklet has 12 pages (including the back cover).
From the fist page: "In this heroic transcription to music of Kipling's vigorous verse, there is a virility in the richness and fullness of melody, an essence that is sublime in its force and magnitude and lends additional emphasis to the splendid text."
The back cover has a another Oley Speaks sheet music song "Life" that is available from the publisher.
Condition: the sheet music booklet is in overall very good condition. There is a 1/2" tear on the the top left corner of the front cover by the spine, and a small 1/4" tear at the base of the covers' spine on the bottom left corner. There is very light wear on the right corner tip edges (see photos).
