16-page full color brochure for the April 1974 - November 1974 Mediterranean Fly/Cruises aboard the British flag P&O "The British Cruise Line" ships ss Canberra and ss Oriana with air travel provided by British Airways.
The brochure has two photos of the Canberra's exterior and a photo of one of its lounges. It has a photo of the Oriana's exterior and one of its restaurants. It also has a very short description of each ship (gross tons, number of decks and public rooms and cabins.
The brochure has descriptions of the cabins and a room layout plan for the Court Cabins, and photos of an outside two-bedded cabin, outside single cabin, and inside two-berth cabin.
The brochure has descriptions of the available fly/cruise package options, descriptions of ports of call, and day by day itineraries and sailing schedules for the fly/cruise packages. It also has info on what is included in the fare, room rates, cost of air travel, shipboard general information (including mealtimes), and info on the hotels.
Condition: The brochure is in very good condition. The front cover has a small light crease along the top edge (see photos).
Ship History: The 49,073 ton 830 ft. ss Canberra was built in 1961 and sailed with P&O until 1997 when it was sold for scrap.
The 41,910 ton 804 ft. ss Oriana sailed with P&O from 1960 to 1986 when it was sold to a Japanese company and became a floating hotel and museum ship in Osaka, and later Beppu Japan. In 1995 it was sold to a Chinese company for use as a hotel ship and tourist attraction in Shanghai and later Dalian. It was damaged during a storm in 2005 and was sold for scrap.
