31-page full color brochure for the 1979 Mediterranean cruises to Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Egypt, Israel, Canary Islands, and North Africa aboard the British flag P&O "The British Cruise Line" ships ss Canberra and ss Oriana. The brochure also has onfo on crioses to Scandinavia, the Fjors, and the Canberra's Round the World Cruise.
The air/sea packages were arranged by Princess Tours (which was owned by P&O), and ai travel provided by Pan Am.
The brochure has photos and descriptions of the ships, shipboard life, food, service, and entertainment, as well as detailed deck plans of both ships, and photos and descriptions of the 8 different types of cabins.
The brochure has cruise itineraries, sailing schedules, and information on ports of call, room rates, sample airfares, and general passenger information.
Condition: The brochure is in very good condition. The brochure has a small dogear crease on the top right corner tips (see photos).
Ship History: The 49,073 ton 830 ft. ss Canberra was built in 1961 and sailed with P&O until 1997 when it was sold for scrap.
The 41,910 ton 804 ft. ss Oriana sailed with P&O from 1960 to 1986 when it was sold to a Japanese company and became a floating hotel and museum ship in Osaka, and later Beppu Japan. In 1995 it was sold to a Chinese company for use as a hotel ship and tourist attraction in Shanghai and later Dalian. It was damaged during a storm in 2005 and was sold for scrap.
