16 page full color brochure for the inaugural season of 7-day cruises to the western Caribbean and Mexico from Miami aboard the Paquet French Cruises ship ss Rhapsody (the former ss Statendam) which Paquet had just purchased.
The brochure includes descriptions and photos of the ship and its public rooms and life aboard the ship, descriptions and photos of ports of call, itineraries and sailing schedules , room rates, helpful ship info, detailed deck plans, photos of the different stateroom types and cabin plans, and fly/cruise rates.
The brochure is in very good condition with some light yellowing on the edges of the covers due to age (see photos).
The 24,294 ton Rhapsody was built in 1956 and sailed as the Holland America ship ss Statendam from 1956-1982. It was sold to Paquet in 1982 and renamed the Rhapsody, and then it was sold to Regency Cruises in 1986 and renamed the Regent Star and operated until 1995 when Regency filed for bankruptcy. The ship was laid up from 1996 until it was scrapped in 2004.
