Product Description

Vintage promotional matchbox from 1981 advertising the Parker House Hotel at 60 School St in Boston Massachusetts which was owned by Dunfey Hotels.

The matchbook has 'Parker House A Dunfey Classic Hotel'  and the Parker House 'PH' logo on the strike side of the cover, and the 'PH' logo on the front cover. The inside of the matchbook gives the Dunfey Hotels toll free reservation number.  The matches have white tips.

The matchbook is in very good condition. All matches are intact and the "strike pad" is unstruck (see photos).

The Parker House luxury hotel was founded in 1855 and the current 551 room building was built in 1927.  Famous guests over the years included President John F Kennedy, John Wilkes Boothe, and Charles Dickens among many others.  The Boston Cream Pie and Parker House Roll were invented in the hotel's Parker House Restaurant.  Dunfey Hotels bought the hotel in 1968, and in 1983 they bought Omni Hotels and transferred the hotel to the Omni brand.
