Product Description

Vintage 30-strike matchbook cover (no matches) from the early 1960's advertising Peabody's market / restaurant in Birmingham, Michigan which was originally located at 154 S Hunter Blvd.

Peabody's opened in 1946 on the site of a converted grist mill as a local market selling "wet goods and fine food".  It converted to a full time restaurant in 1975 after a fire destroyed the original building (pictured on this matchbook cover).  The restaurant closed in 2016.

The front cover of the matchbook has the the restaurant logo showing its converted barn building.  The strike side of the cover has the address and says "wet goods - fine food". The inside of the matchbook is blank.

The matchbook cover is in very good condition. It is empty and there are no matches and the strike pad appears to be unused (see photos).
