Rare end of World War II U.S. Navy fuel economy 44-page instructional paperback booklet for sailors from 1945, Pointers On Traveling To Tokyo (Don't Waste That Fuel Oil!).  The booklet was issued by the U.S. Navy Department's Bureau of Ships and is Technical Publication No. 11 (publication code NAVSHIPS 250 22-4).  It was printed May 1st 1945 by the U.S. Government Printing Office in Washington D.C.

Synopsis: The instructional booklet provides pointers for sailors on maximizing fuel efficiency on ships, and it is illustrated throughout its pages with many World War 2 era cartoon drawings by artist Bill Sullivan (including the front cover, and the back cover which has Bill Sullivan's "Pumpkin Junction Zoo" drawing").  The booklet was issued during the Navy's final advance to Tokyo in the Pacific campaign in the final months of WW2 in 1945.

From the inside cover: "Fuel is the life's blood of a ship. To keep our fleet operatring at maximum efficiency, fuel oil waste must be reduced to a minimum. A great deal of useless consumption can be eliminated by proper maintenance an operating procedures. To give information on methods of fuel conservation, T.P.-11, is published for information and guidance to all."

Condition: The booklet is in overall very good condition.  The covers have a few light smudges and marks, and the corner tips show minor signs of having been read (see photos). The booklet measures 10" x 8" (254mm x 203mm).
