Vintage 4-panel 2-sided full color brochure for the Polish Ocean Lines (Gdynia America Line) Polish registered flagship TSS Stefan Batory from 1974.
The brochure describes the ship and the experience of sailing on one of its Trans-Atlantic Crossings from Europe to Canada. The brochure has a photo of the ship's exterior on the front cover, and the inside has many photos of shipboard life.
The Stefan Batory made regular port stops in Montreal (Canada), London/Southampton (United Kingdom), Rotterdam (Holland), Hamburg (Germany), and Gdynia (Poland) from 1968 to 1988.
Condition: The brochure is in very good condition (see photos). The brochure was printed in Canada in February 1974.
Ship History: The 503 ft 15,052 ton TSS Stefan Batory was built as the Holland America Lines ship Maasdam IV and sailed with them until 1968 when it was sold to Polish Ocean Lines and renamed Stefan Batory. The ship continued its regular transatlantic crossings until 1988. From 1988-1990 it was used mainly as a cruise ship. In 1990 it was sold to the Swedish government and used as an accommodation ship until 1992 when it was laid up. The ship was scrapped in 2000.
