Pooh The Grand And Wonderful Day, written by Mary Packard and illustrated by Darrell Baker. A Little Golden Book, published by Golden Press, Western Publishing Co, Racine WI. Printed in the USA in 1996. Hardcover book, 24 pages.
Synopsis: Winnie the Pooh wakes up one morning with a feeling that today is a special, "grand and wonderful" day, but he can't remember why. He goes to visit all his friends—Piglet, Rabbit, and Eeyore—hoping they will remind him, but to his surprise, no one is home. Pooh's imagination gets the better of him, and he begins to worry that something sad or gloomy is happening, and that his friends have all left him out.
Feeling upset, he heads to Christopher Robin's house. As he approaches, he notices colorful banners and balloons, but he is too focused on his worries to realize what they mean. He begins to tell Christopher Robin about his fears, when suddenly, all of his friends jump out and shout, "Happy birthday, Pooh!"
Pooh realizes that the "grand and wonderful day" is his own birthday. He happily enjoys the birthday celebration, complete with a honey cake, and recognizes that he has the most "grand and wonderful friends" a bear could ask for.
Condition: The book is in very good condition. The front cover has some price sticker remains on the top right corner, and there is a name written in the "this book belongs to" space on the inside. The inside pages are in excellent condition with no writing marks or creases. The spine and binding are also in very good condition. (see photos).
