Product Description

7-page (4-large panels / 2-sided) full color brochure for the June 11-December 31 1983 cruises from New York to the Bahamas (Nassau, Grand Bahama) aboard the Scandinavian World Cruises cruiseferry m/s/ Scandinavia (as built the ship could accommodate 1600 passengers and over 500 cars)..

The brochure a description of the cruise and a few photos of shipboard life, a large 2-page artist's rendition of the ship, itinerary, room rates, basic deck plans, and general information.

The brochure is in excellent condition (see photos). 

Printed in the USA, March 1983.

The 26,747 ton cruiseferry Scandinavia was built in 1981 at a cost of $100 million for Scandinavian World Cruises (a unit of DFDS Seaways). The ship was sold to Sundance Cruises in 1985 (and later to Admiral Cruises) and renamed the Stardancer.  It was sold to Royal Caribbean in 1990 and renamed the Viking Serenade.  The ship's car ferry deck was converted to a passenger deck in 1991 and the ship's gross tonnage increased to 40,171 tons.  The ship was transferred to Royal Caribbean owned Island Cruises  in 2002 and renamed the ms Island Escape.  From 2009-2015 it was operated by Thomson Cruises.  It was sold in 2015 and scrapped in 2018.
