Product Description

Vintage 1940's linen postcard showing the Worcester Sheraton Hotel at 50 Franklin St. in Worcester, Massachusetts

The Beaux Arts style building was built in 1913 as the Hotel Bancroft.  Sheraton purchased it in 1942 and changed the name to Worcester Sheraton Hotel.  The name reverted to Hotel Bancroft after Sheraton sold it in 1955.  The building was converted to an apartment building in 1964 and renamed Bancroft Commons (and today it is Bancroft On The Grid).  The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The card is unused and unposted.   It is in excellent condition. (see photos).
