Vintage mid 1960's Smokey the Bear Cubs Prevent Forest Fires combination bookmark and ruler on card stock paper. The ruler measures 8" x 2.5" (203mm x 64mm)
The bookmark was made in 1964 as a promotional public service message by the New Jersey Forest Fire Service, the US Department of Agriculture Forest Service, and the Advertising Council Public Service.
The front of the bookmark shows Smokey the Bear's cubs with the message "Please! Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires". The back of the bookmark has a 6 inch ruler, and 3 charts for school children to check off the days until the next vacation: days to Christmas Vacation, Spring Vacation, Summer Vacation.
The bookmark is in excellent condition (see photos).
