Plot summary: Smokey the Bear tells the story of a small bear cub who is saved from a forest fire by a kind forest ranger who found the frightened and injured bear cub found clinging to a charred tree after a devastating fire in the forest. Smokey is nursed back to health, but his paws are badly burned. Because he can no longer survive on his own in the wild, he is given a new home at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. He becomes a living symbol for fire prevention. The story emphasizes his famous message: "Only you can prevent forest fires!" It teaches children the importance of being careful with fire in the outdoors to protect the homes of animals like Smokey.
Condition: The book is in good plus to very good condition. The front cover has some light wear on the right side corner tips and a few smudges. The back cover has light wear on the graphics and on the hinge. There are two names written on the inside of the front cover and the title page has a small crease on the bottom right corner.
